Product overview
SyncSol MTGP 7812 is a general-application masking tape: a 60 gsm crepe paper backing coated with an acrylic emulsion adhesive, at 130 µm (92 gsm) in total. It keeps overspray off adjacent surfaces and leaves clean paint lines, with adhesion to steel of 450 g per inch and 9 % elongation at break.
The flexible crepe backing lets the tape follow curves and uneven surfaces. It stands up to the water and solvents in paint, can carry light plastic sheeting, and is removed cleanly without damage or residue. It tears by hand for quick, tool-free application.
With a 60 ℃ rating and moderate adhesion, MTGP 7812 suits room-temperature masking and lighter-duty holding. Use a high-temperature grade where parts go through an oven.
Main applications
- Paint masking on appliances, furniture and metal parts
- Automotive and marine painting at ambient temperature
- Masking in building and construction finishing
- Holding and protecting surfaces during spraying
- Labelling, arts and crafts
