Product overview

SyncSol ETPT 4790 is a polyimide tape: a 25 µm (1 mil) amber polyimide film coated with silicone adhesive, 50 µm thick overall. It is rated to insulation class 180 ℃, with heat resistance listed at 350 ℃, dielectric breakdown of 7,500 V, insulation resistance of 1,000,000 MΩ and UL-94 V-0 flammability.

The film does not soften at elevated temperatures and stays dimensionally stable, so it works as a clean release surface and helps cut rework. It is flame retardant and resists chemicals and radiation. The silicone adhesive limits adhesive transfer at high temperature, which reduces cleaning. Rolls are wound on a polyethylene core instead of cardboard.

ETPT 4790 is the thinner of the two polyimide grades; ETPT 4795 uses a 50 µm film for higher dielectric strength.
